Every touch tells a story. Intimacy Direction is a discipline pioneered by fem and queer artists, born out of a long overdue need for improved safety, advocacy, and working conditions for all theatre artists. By creating and establishing a shared language and tool kit for everyone’s physical storytelling, we empower artists, center joy, discovery and collaboration, and nurture a theatre culture that puts consent and community first. I am so grateful for the opportunity to marry my passion for community advocacy with my love of creating choreography and meaningful visual stories. I am proud of how the theatre world has evolved, and that we get to evolve alongside it.
